What Is Peace?
Peace is not Just a state of mind. Peace is not Just an attitude.
Peace
is not a commodity that can be purchased for a piece of silver. Peace is
a philosophy. It is the total understanding, and the total tolerance,
and the total love of that which surrounds you. For if you can
understand and appreciate that which is happening, without any
resentment, even though you may not agree; if you can tolerate the
actions of others, finding qualities in their sins, you will be
close to peace. Peace is not the total abdication of the spirit towards
any one situation. For even in a peaceful state it is healthy to
question. It is also necessary to see the other side of the coin, and
understand that if a situation is not suitable for you, your situation
may not be suitable for another; yet either situation is suitable in its
proper respect. Peace is loving that which is around you, not blindly or
thoughtlessly, but with the full realization that it has value, that it
is spiritually fit, that it is part of you and your world.
For there isn't one that is not your equal in the eyes of the Supreme
Being. There is not one who is lower than you, or higher, in the eyes of
the Supreme Being. For each one of you is part of the Supreme Being, and
shares an equal part with him. We concern ourselves more with those of
you who need the most help. This does not mean we love them more, it
only means that we are more concerned, for their road is the harder one.
We are concerned with your spiritual welfare. We are concerned with your
spiritual well being. And if one of you ever falls by the road, he shall
be the one we shall take care of the most. For obviously those of you
that are closer to our standards are the ones who need the least
assistance.
